October 19 - 25th headed south to the Berkshires
stayed in Hancock MA

Took a Photo Workshop with a group out of Boston.  My friend Jamie came up from VA to join me.
We shot at a Shaker Village

Looking out from a large stone round barn used for milking the cows
And a shot of the inside of the barn

All of the cooking utensils were very plain and utilitarian
made for lovely shots
October Mountain

Wahconah Falls

Weather was mostly grey so we shot a several waterfalls

And then at

Berkshire Equestrian Center

When the workshop ended Jamie and I continued to shoot in the western Mass Northern Connecticut area searching for worthy subjects.
Bash Bish Falls on the MASS/NY border.  There are two trails leading to these falls that have the green water shown here. One is a flat dirt road trail .75 miles and one is a treacherous steep rock filled trail .5 miles - guess which one we took!! Not intentionally! Discovering our mistake at the bottom so we had little choice but to hike back out the hard way to the car.

On the back side of Mount Greylock we found the most amazing grove of birch trees.  Going to any length to get the shot Jamie drove his truck into the field so that we could shoot over the shoulder high weeds.

Was totally worth it and we narrowly escaped being caught by the local police!

We spent several hours here shooting these Birch trees
Happy Acres Farm, Sherman CT.  We missed the perfect light on the barns by about 2 minutes!!  We hung over the fence sharing space with cows to get this shot.

  1. Karol,
I really like the Wahconah Falls shot. You must have been at ground level.
