One last shot of the Skyline as we prepare to leave Boston.
Taken from the Boston University Bridge, you can see the DeWolfe Boat house home to the BU  rowing team,  in the bottom left corner the with the Hyatt Hotel often referred to as the "stair step hotel" above it.  Mass Ave bridge spans the river and you can see the new John Hancock building as well as the Pru and of course the Citgo sign in the bottom right.

Boston Skyline

The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge was constructed during the Big Dig and is the widest cable-stayed bridge in the world www.leonardpzakimbunkerhillbridge.org

From Cambridge just past the Museum of Science I ran on the trail in right corner this morning a loop from Mass Ave bridge over Museum of Science Bridge, view was just as good this morning!

Along Memorial Drive just opposite MIT

The Longfellow bridge with "T" trains going in each direction adding the light effect on the bridge and in the water and the streak in the sky is an airplane heading for Logan Airport.
That is the Longfellow Bridge and is currently undergoing a three year reconstruction project is only open in one direction and messing up traffic

October 25 - November 15th We are back in Boston.  Staying on Commonwealth Ave.  For those of you familiar with Boston we are pretty much directly across from the Citgo Sign.

Out for some night shots of the Boston Skyline had a great sky - including a double rainbow
Tobin Bridge with sun lighting up
From Piers Point, East Boston on a night with great sky

Boston Skyline from Fan Pier
October 19 - 25th headed south to the Berkshires
stayed in Hancock MA

Took a Photo Workshop with a group out of Boston.  My friend Jamie came up from VA to join me.
We shot at a Shaker Village

Looking out from a large stone round barn used for milking the cows
And a shot of the inside of the barn

All of the cooking utensils were very plain and utilitarian
made for lovely shots
October Mountain

Wahconah Falls

Weather was mostly grey so we shot a several waterfalls

And then at

Berkshire Equestrian Center

When the workshop ended Jamie and I continued to shoot in the western Mass Northern Connecticut area searching for worthy subjects.
Bash Bish Falls on the MASS/NY border.  There are two trails leading to these falls that have the green water shown here. One is a flat dirt road trail .75 miles and one is a treacherous steep rock filled trail .5 miles - guess which one we took!! Not intentionally! Discovering our mistake at the bottom so we had little choice but to hike back out the hard way to the car.

On the back side of Mount Greylock we found the most amazing grove of birch trees.  Going to any length to get the shot Jamie drove his truck into the field so that we could shoot over the shoulder high weeds.

Was totally worth it and we narrowly escaped being caught by the local police!

We spent several hours here shooting these Birch trees
Happy Acres Farm, Sherman CT.  We missed the perfect light on the barns by about 2 minutes!!  We hung over the fence sharing space with cows to get this shot.

October 12 - 17 Killington, VT - we spent the week here in Killington hiking, viewing fall foliage and visiting quaint Vermont towns.

We watched a hot air balloon descending near Queeche Gorge, Queeche VT

Cloudland Farm in Woodstock VT this farm is rumored to be owned by LED Zeplin's drummer - not sure if that is a fact but the farm is lovely.

Red Maples in a forest

View from Deer Leap  - that is Killington Mountain in the distance.  Hike was 3 miles round trip with 1600 ft vertical ascent.

Birch Trees my favorite trees!

October 6 - 11 We were in Burlington VT and I spent the week working - got out to shoot sunset a few times though

Sunset from Mt Philo State Park Charlotte VT

Moon Rise Button Bay State Park, Ferrisburgh, VT

And Sunset from a different view - those are the Adirondacks across Lake Champlain

Waited for the last bit of light and hiked out in the dark

Reflections of Moon found hiking out of Button Bay this was the night before the blood moon - was cloudy here in Vt so no view

October 3 - 5 The Adirondacks

We stayed at White Pine Camp in Paul Smith's New York

The Boat House

View from the old boat house

Sunrise on a foggy morning - this shot was just down from our cabin - a small one room in the Lodge

The weather was somewhat overcast and rainy and so shots of water were in order
Buttermilk Falls - shot these in the pouring rain standing under an umbrella !!

Shelving Rock Falls

It was so difficult to find these falls that we had our son in CA google-map and direct us.

Hike in was about 1/2 mile and was very lovely

September 28 - October 2
Provincetown, MA

Sunrise from the deck of our apartment!

Cape Cod Seashore National Park.  We rode bikes out here before breakfast - amazing views.  http://www.nps.gov/caco/index.htm

Spotted this heron eating his breakfast!
We hiked out the dunes to the ocean along the way spotting artist cabins that were once life saver huts.  http://www.nps.gov/caco/historyculture/life-savers.htm

It was a 45 minute hike in each direction - but worth the effort - see cabin in above photo.  These old huts are now available to artists through a program with The Provincetown Community Compact  http://www.nps.gov/caco/index.htm
